Google Play Books App Quick Review
Google Play Book – Writers and publishers around the world are probably familiar with the concept of DMR or digital media rights. DMR are efforts made to limit any kind of copyright infringement on digital media. A lot of e-book companies like apple and amazon make sure that you can only read books purchased through their stores on their respective devices. So books purchased from Amazon need to be read on a kindle,
you need a mac or an i-pad to read a book from the App Store and so on. Now when Google Google Play Book e-books first came out, they had millions of books converted to digital media and a couple million free books too. The numbers were so unmanageable at that initial stage that they soon had to shut down that operation.
The new version of Google e-books, which is called Google Play Books and is part of the Play store, uses adobes EPUB and PDF formats. This means that they can be transferred to and used on any other device that supports Adobe. This kind of Open Source format has made the Google Play Books a very popular choice among readers.
Freedom is everything
Ever since Linus Trovalds came out with Linux in 1991, the world has been obsessed with Open Source technology, and cross platform agility is just as important. The whole problem back then was that everything was made for Windows and people were slowly getting annoyed at their lack of options. It’s the same story with the XboX and the Playstation, with the PS4 gaining popularity because it doesn’t require you to be online all the time.
Cloud based accessibility
The great thing about Google Play Books, apart from the cross platform agility, is that it is entirely cloud based. So all your purchases are stored in the cloud, probably for eternity, and you can access them from any device, anywhere in the world.
Google Play Book App Encouraging new talent
Now you would think that a book store is just for the readers, but think again because this store is all about the writers. Google Play Store encourages writers to self publish, and anyone with a complete book and a bank account, can give it a go. A lot of writers have had success through self publishing, and Google Pay Books have really succeeded in building a great launch pad for aspiring writers everywhere.

Way ahead of the competition
With the ability to be able to access your books on any device in the world, this is a great step by Google towards freedom when it comes to digital rights management. You don’t even need to have adobe or EPUB, you can read your books directly in your web browser.
Even apple’s App store now features Google Play books, and if you’re an apple user you can still download the app. Compared with Amazons three or four DRM formats that require a kindle, Google Play Book App definitely has the right idea, apart from having a much more appealing look and greater ease of use
